In a small town in the heart of New England, a little girl named Emily writes poems on tiny sheets, hiding them in the drawer of her desk. Emily speaks of flowers, plants, animals. But there are other creatures in her room, too. Creatures that most of the people do not know, because no one except Emily can see them: they are angels, come from who knows where, and they leave around the house messages that only she can decipher. Ever since they came, they never left, and so one day Emily began to write about them. (Original title: Alone, I cannot be).
